History Lesson

The Following Message is being broadcast via subspace, piggybacked onto an episode of the Popular Wasati Soap Opera "'Experienced' Pirate":

Brothers and Sisters,

Many many generations ago when the other great races of the galaxy were still threatening their own existences with primitive fission weapons over fossil fuels, the Keldon people had mastered the entire Keldon Sector. Unfortunately during this time there was a schism. The Keldon Sector had become over populated and there was nowhere left to go. This was a black day in the history of our species. A group of outcasts, several thousand clutches strong, were sent away from the Keldon sector on a giant sleeper ship. Over the next few centuries the Keldon sector did not wither, obviously, but in that sector the basis of all modern space travel was created. The first wormhole was opened to Eta Cassiopiea and from there the Keldon Species spread west and north throughout the galaxy. History forgot the exiles.

The Keldon Protectorate spread outward over many parsecs until finally the inevitable happened. We stumbled upon the Ska'ari, and as is our nature; gave them the gift of the wormhole.

The Ska'ari have paid us back for that gift many times over. They have paid us back by dominating our culture, assimilating our technology to create their war machine and they have dragged our species into three costly intra galactic wars.

Now we, your exiled Keldon brothers and sisters in the Union have brought the fourth war upon them. The dream of a united Keldon species under the golden fist of the Union will see us through the dark days of this fourth Great War.

To our compatriots fighting within the atmospheres of Empire planets: Be strong and know that your allies are out there to support you. Your bravery will be the path to a united Keldon.
